Paris

‘Paris est toujours une bonne idée’…  some call it the city of love, some call it the city of dreams, but I call it the city of fashion with passion. Forever my favourite city, Paris has always and will always have my heart. No matter how much I write about this French capital, I won’t ever be able to do justice to its charm and glamour. From the boulevard of Champs Elysees and the endless line to enter La Duree and Louis Vuitton, the rush of garçons in and out of Cafe de Flore, the artistic time machine back to the 50s at Shakespeare & Co. and the sparkle of the Eiffel Tower at the strike of every hour, it was really une coup de foudre. On the verge of sounding cliché, la vie in Paris is truly en rose.

Bringing to you one of the most desired cities in the world, the city that houses the planet’s most visited attraction Eiffel Tower and charms us with its golden stone facades. No matter how well you know this city, there’s always something new the city unfolds. It’s fun to play being a Parisian wearing pantyhose and a vintage skirt set with a matching beret, exploring the grandiose palaces and majestic boulevards carrying minis from La Duree and café au lait from Cafe De Flore. The vintage boutiques, quaint cafes and monuments are the true clue to Paris’s eminent appeal.

This city of lights wears its monarchy and boasts of abundance of gilded historical monuments. The city’s rich heritage can be explored by getting lost in the world’s largest art museum Louvre‘, home to the crowd-drawing Monalisa or by ducking in and out of other art venues on the streets of Belleville to the happening bars of Pigalle. Speaking of the glory and grandeur of Champs Elysees, this avenue indicates heaven on earth. This wide tree-lined avenue retains its allure yet is the most exclusive shopping hub in Paris housing high end chic brands like Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Louis Vuitton etc. The Arc De Triumphe is a prominent monumental arch that resides in the city central, a few minutes down the Champs Elysees. An absolute must-visit while you’re in Paris is the ‘Eiffel Tower’. No matter which season it is, winter or summer, the views are as magnifique as the tower itself! The Cathedral of Notre Dame is indeed one of the most finest European churches that speaks aloud its gothic architecture, très bonne

A walk across Le Marais will bring you to the most dapper boutiques in Paris, a few exclusive Parisian dépôts-ventes selling boots and hats , somethings I really treasured when I returned from this charming city. A night cruise along River Seine (a cruise I really propose) projects a perfect view of the glimmering Eiffel Tower by the night.

Restaurants in Paris are illustrious; just like the variety of foods. From the quintessential outfits to the grand and classic servings , from swaying through sought-after joints in true Parisian style to the bustling eateries full of people, Paris is known for it’s food. Dining in this glamorous city is more than a croissant for breakfast and cassoulet for a  meal; whether it’s a Lemon Dijon Vinaigrette or a Coq Au Vin, the city doesn’t disappoint us. From classics that one must never miss to something that the city has new to offer, food in Paris is ambrosial. Beginning with Crepes, the key to a Parisian’s (and my) heart, these thin pancakes are always needed for a French Breakfast, along with the heavenly pain au chocolat and croissants. Coq Au Vin, a typical French stew in which chicken is braised slowly in red wine and other spices, it’s something everyone desires when they hit the city’s cobblestoned streets. While it’s staple in Paris, you cannot leave without your tastebuds asking for more. When you think of Paris, you can never miss the ‘Producers of the world’s finest cheese and wine’, it’s true! Fromageries in Paris are the finest. During my sojourn in this city, I realised that both wine and cheese are truly imperative to complete a french meal.

Paris, the name brings magic to it all…
